HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?

Popular Questions

How do I sign up?

Select a convenient venue nearby on the night/level that works by visiting the sport and searching closest league by postcode. You can also use our Search Tool Here

https://www.gomammoth.co.uk/activity-finder/

You can enter any league as an individual, with a friend or two (a small group), or as full team (eg work colleagues or friends outside the office)

Pay for the full 8-12 weeks upfront and we’ll send your full league details 1 week before the league starts

Individuals – you pay for full season before the league starts and then we’ll add you to another team of individuals looking for team-mates of a similar level (Remember 70% of all new members join like this not knowing anyone else!)

Small Groups – you have a friend or two, but not enough for a full team. You ALL enter as individuals but note down during registration process (Click “Joining with friends”) the names of your friends – and we’ll be sure to put your all in the same team!

Full Teams– a captain registers & pays for the whole team and then collects subs/monies back from team-mates. You can add as many players to your team as you wish. Team entry works out quite a lot cheaper per player than joining as individuals. Full payment is in advance rather than weekly to ensure teams are committed to playing every week

When will I receive fixtures & information of my team?

We aim to email you your fixtures 1 week before your start date. However, in busy periods you may not receive fixtures until 48 hours before the start date.

Your fixtures will be visible when you login to your account (along with your ‘League Standings’ – which are updated the day after every game).

Can I attend a free trial session before committing?

Sports Leagues: You are welcome to visit a league before committing to joining to watch the league in action and chat to some members. However, please contact us before deciding to visit a venue as we would need to ensure the league manager and facility are expecting you and have you on our records.

If I can’t join on the specified start date, can I still join now?

Yes. But fixtures begin on a certain date, so if you are unable to attend the first or any subsequent fixture, you should inform your team-mates so they can find a substitute player/stand-in for you

How do I join with a friend(s) ?

If you don’t have enough for a full team, then sign up to any league as an individual , and add your friend(s) names during the checkout process. We will then ensure you are put in the same team as your friends.

I’d like to join a league but I’m not sure what level of play I am?

Select your sport in the menu above, choose your venue and then you’ll see the available leagues. The levels of play (usually recreational/social, intermediate, competitive), are all explained clearly on these pages and cater for differing levels of experience and ability.

How do sports leagues work?

You join as an individual, with a couple of friends (and we’ll add you with other individuals to create a full team ), or as a full team .

Leagues typically last 8-12 weeks and happen at the same venue every week.Your game time will vary every week between allocated hrs eg. 7pm and 9pm eg. one week match could be 7pm, next week could 740pm, next week could 810pm etc.

We try and give everyone a fair spread of early/mid/late start time across the full season

Your game (fixture) times will be sent out to you before the start date of the league.

Players are able to miss weeks but it is recommended you find a friend/substitute to play so your team has enough players

How do I know if there is space in the league I want to join?

Select your sport in the main menu above, or click JOIN NOW and search, then you’ll see the available leagues. If your league is full it will say “JoinWaiting List”(or has limited spaces left) instead of “View Details” . If you join a waiting list, we will email when a space become available.

Where can I find the rules for my sport?

Click “Sport” above, and scroll down to the bottom of your specific sport page. In the “Find out more” section near the bottom of the page, you can see a link to the rules. They are also listed on the relevant venue and league pages under “League details” section.

What is GO Mammoth?

GO Mammoth is the largest organiser of after-work sports leagues in the country.
We organise social team sports for adults such as Netball, Football, Rounders, Cricket & Dodgeball… to more international sports such as Basketball, Softball and Volleyball.
You join a league for typically 8-12 weeks either as a team or individual and play a different team every week at the same venue. Game times vary each week within usually a 2-3 hr period.

Can myself and a friend sign up together and be kept in the same team?

Yes, click “Join as Individual” once you’ve selected the league, and click on “Joining with friends” (in Step 1 of registration) . In this box you can enter the names of the individuals you want to be in a team with. Or, if you have already signed up just drop us an email and we’ll make sure you are put in the same team.

If I am joining as an individual, will there be enough players on my team?

Yes. We intentionally build all individual teams to ensure they have enough players including substitutes.

If I can’t join on the specified start date, can I still join now?

Yes. But fixtures begin on a certain date, so if you are unable to attend the first or any subsequent fixture, you should inform your team-mates so they can find a substitute player/stand-in for you

How do I know what team I am in if I have registered as an ‘individual’?

You should receive your team information 1 week before your start date, in busy periods however you may not receive them until 48 hours before the start date. On receiving your team-mates details, we recommending introducing yourselves virtually ahead of the first night

League Information

When will I receive fixtures & information of my team?

We aim to email you your fixtures 1 week before your start date. However, in busy periods you may not receive fixtures until 48 hours before the start date.

Your fixtures will be visible when you login to your account (along with your ‘League Standings’ – which are updated the day after every game).

How do I view my fixtures or league standings?

Fixtures and standings are only visible to members. Members should login and select My Fixtures & My Standings from the menu

What should you do if you come across any incorrect scores or errors?

If you have noticed any errors with your scores, email us at hello@gomammoth.co.uk clearly stating the sport you play, the league location, date of the game and the correct score. We will then investigate and update as soon as we can.

How long is each game?

Games are usually played between 40-60 minutes. For more information on your particular sport, head over the your sport page , click onto the rules tab towards the bottom of the page.

Where do I find venue location/time information?

All information on how to get to the venue can be found on the venue page on the website and in your welcome kick-off email. Information on the times of your games/classes will be emailed out to you before each game and can also be found in “My Fixtures” or “My Classes” in your control panel.

How do I receive contact information for my team?

Your team mates’ details are available as soon as you receive the league details (just follow the steps in the email) usually 1 week before the league starts. You can find them in your control panel under “My Teams”. We strongly recommend that each team create a group email or team WhatsApp group, it is a great way to stay in touch with each other.

Player Availability

How do we find extra players / ringers for our fixture today?

It is the responsibility of every team to field a full team every week. We have a “Ringers” function when you login to your profile. This will give you the ability to SMS/email other teams in your league or players at nearby venues who have expressed an interest in subbing into other teams as a stand-in player.

What happens if our team has to forfeit because we can’t find enough players?

Forfeit Policy

We ask upon entry that you commit to being at every game and we can always help with fill-ins to make up numbers to ensure all teams get a game every week

If short of players, please use our Ringers function (see ‘Find Ringers’ option when logged-in) OR ask friends if they can play.

If you absolutely cannot make a fixture, a forfeit will be recorded – this means a 10-0 defeat (e.g. Netball) and one match fee will be added to your team statement, this goes towards refunding your opposition for the cancelled match. Any outstanding forfeit fees will be payable at the end of the season and must be cleared before proceeding into a new season

If a team forfeits more than once in a season, GO Mammoth has the right to eject the team from the league in the interest of the other teams. In which case, in line with our terms & conditions, no refunds will be given.

A forfeit should be a last resort as it means your opposing team misses out on a week of games. In the very rare event of a team absence, please call us on 0207 381 6034 as soon as possible so we can let your opposition know.

I’m worried I will miss some games, can I pay weekly?

We do not offer a pay as you go option and we can’t discount for players or teams not attending. All leagues are paid in full before the league begins to ensure players are motivated every week to attend. There should be plenty of players in each team to cover games you cannot attend so do not worry. You should also communicate with your team mates ahead of time so they can find a sub/ringer if needed.

If a player is missing, can we use a ringer/substitute?

Yes, you may use a substitute once. Although, they will need to sign up on your team roster and submit a form online. Please ask them to speak to a GO Mammoth rep on arrival and they can sign them in on their phone

Team Management

How do I add players or remove players from my team?

You must have a role of team “Organiser” in order to be able to add or remove players in your team, or change team name etc. Please either ask an Organiser in your team to do this, or contact us directly and we will change you to an ‘Organiser’ so you can do this.

Can I change my team’s name?

Yes, please log into your control panel > My Teams > Rename this team (next to the team name). If you do not see this option , then you will need to contact us in order to change your role to an “Organiser” (or alternatively, see if someone else in your team is already an Organiser.. there is always atleast one)

What happens if there are too many players in my individual team?

We build teams of individuals larger intentionally as we’ve found that not all players can make all weeks. e.g if 7 players are on the court, it is normal to have 10 players in a squad. Exactly 7 players leads to teams struggling to find enough players each week. If you are concerned or would like to discuss your squad size, then please contact us in the office

Who do I contact to see Match results & scheduling for my team?

All of this information can be found in your control panel, please login then click on my account and navigate to “My Fixtures” and “My Standings”

Billing & Payment

Why does our team have an outstanding balance?

This is usually because your team has been automatically enrolled into the new season, this is to give your team priority to sign up before anyone else can (to avoid missing out).

This outstanding will not be charged to your account. If you wish to play in the next season, please pay this balance ASAP by visiting MY STATEMENT.
If you do not want to play in the new season please de-register your team via the GO Mammoth website or email Members@gomammoth.co.uk.

How Do I Set Up A Split Payment?

After registering for your preferred league, click on your statement on your profile through the GO Mammoth website, this is found on the drop down menu. Choose to make a payment for the bill. Then tick the box for the League Fee to be paid and click on ‘Make Payment’. You will then have 2 payment options, for the shared payment option choose ‘Pay My Share’. You will then be able to select the teammates you’d like to pay for this league, if they are not showing please click on ‘Add Another Sharer’ and add their name and email address.

Once all payees boxes have been ticked the total fee will be split evenly between those selected. You should then select ‘Pay My Share And Email The Others’, this will confirm the payees and the amount each is to pay and send emails to all players with a link to their statement to simply make payment. For your portion of the payment you will be asked to enter card details and pay your share at that point.

All transactions for shared payment options must be completed online by those allocated to make payment by the team organiser.

Do you provide refunds?

We offer a full refund or credit if you request it within 5 days of start date of the league . Unfortunately, after this point, refunds aren’t possible as we’re committed to the costs involved running the league. However, if you have paid for a league but there is no space for you, then we’ll fully refund you or help you move into another league.

Do you provide corporate invoices and bank transfers as payment?

All teams/players registering for a league, including corporate teams, must pay online using a debit/credit card before the start of the league to confirm their spot.

We do not offer the ability to pay by bank transfer etc.

Companies are therefore advised to either login and pay with a company debit/credit card OR e.g. your captain/organiser pays on their personal card, and then claims back from your employer through expenses.

After payment, if you a require company an invoice, please email members@gomammoth.co.uk clearly stating the Name of your League, Team Name, Company Details, and we’ll send out an invoice.

Can I pay weekly or pay monthly for my league?

All payments for leagues are made in full before your league starts. This ensures that all teams turn up for their games each week.

Are jewellery, piercings or long nails permitted during games?

Any jewellery/piercings must be removed before stepping on court and nails must be filed / cut short to ensure safety for all players. Any player who refuses to file/cut their nails or to remove items of jewellery/piercings will not be allowed to play in the game. Only specific gloves are allowed for medical reasons and no tapping of jewellery/piercings is allowed. This is a pre-requisite under our insurance policy.

Do leagues run over Christmas?

GO Mammoth Leagues take a break over the Christmas Period so that all members can enjoy time with loved ones. The break time can vary depending on which day of the week Christmas falls but games are normally not scheduled for two weeks and do not run between Christmas and the New Year. Fixtures will be updated in December (or before)  to show excluded weeks over this Xmas period.

When will bad weather or other game cancellations be made?

We will work to inform all players via text or email where games are cancelled.

Given we live in the UK, where weather can be very changeable, GO Mammoth’s general viewpoint is that it is better to get players out playing each week EVEN IF it’s wet, cold, windy, raining, and even sometimes snowing. Similar to school, once you’re running about and playing, you may need to be more conscientious/slow the game down, but it’s still essentially exercise with friends.

Below are the various scenarios for when games may be cancelled due to extreme weather:

Games cancelled in advance –  If games are cancelled in advance during the day you will usually be informed by 5pm on the day by email/sms. If this happens, your missed games will be rescheduled (extra week added on to the season) – so you will not miss any games overall. If you do not hear from us by 5pm, please ASSUME all games will be going ahead. We do speak with Venues throughout the day as well as looking at forecasts to determine whether games can go ahead.

Late notice cancellation – very occasionally the weather may deteriorate last minute which means the GO Mammoth umpire has to cancel games when you arrive or after games have already started. We try to minimise this scenario as much as possible for obvious inconveniences for players (and umpires), but when it does happen games not played will be rescheduled or credited. This decision to cancel games is completely at the discretion of GO Mammoth and feeds into the following point.

Team Forfeits – If you arrive at the venue and the GO Mammoth umpire has said it is playable but you disagree and/or do not wish to play e.g. it may be miserable/slippery/cold/wet etc, then this will be treated as a forfeit and fixtures will not be rescheduled or credits offered. In this instance, the GO Mammoth umpire is best placed to make the decision. Often some teams are happy to play in the conditions whilst others are not, so the last word is to the umpire.

How do I unsubscribe from all GO Mammoth emails/newsletters?

For you to be removed from our database please email hello@gomammoth.co.uk.

Can I hire a pitch for private use?

We do not hire out pitches for private use.

However, if you would like us to organise a corporate sports day (eg. 20-100 people), then we can help. For more information, please contact us and speak to our Corporate Team by emailing corporate@gomammoth.co.uk or  see our Corporate Sports Events here

What if I lose some of my belongings / is there a lost property?

We will endeavour to find your lost item, but take no responsibility for items lost at any of our leagues/classes. Should our staff locate your item, they will typically hold it and it will be  available to pick-up the following week at the same venue.

Do you offer activities for children? How old do you need to be?

Unfortunately we do NOT offer kids sports leagues. All members must be a MINIMUM age of 18 or older to participate in our adult sports leagues.

Awks! We can't actually find a matching answer.
